About Halloween *Halloween History or History of the Holiday we call Halloween aka All Hallows Eve and All Hallows Day.*

    Halloween is said to have started as an ancient Celtic Holiday. The celtics *or Celts as some would search or say.* believed that Halloween was the day when the border between this world and the world of the dead *other world or underworld* could open or become easier for ghosts to pass through. The celtic holiday All Hallows Eve is believed to have been the day the Celtics though both good and evil spirits could pass through into our world and walk among us. They say on Halloween the family members and ancestors that died in the past were welcome home for the Halloween Celebrations while the evil spirit's and harmful spirits were scared off by the men and women wearing masks and costumes for Halloween. Hence for the fact we all dress up on halloween eh. If you believe the history and tales of halloween or not you must admit it is fun to dress up in halloween costumes and try to make the best halloween costume ever.

   As for people saying that it is a wiccan holiday and only for witches ect that is silly. Also celtics, witches and druids were not as evil as people in the usa would have you think. Sadly the word witch or wiccan seems to have always got a bad rap or bad reputation as being evil people when they were quite the opposite of evil! Real wiccan practice from the past or real witches were by nature good and did not cast evil spells yet were using nature and herbs to heal and help people. Anyone that is one with nature and cares for living creatures can not be evil if you ask me. grin.

   Halloween is not celebrated in all countries and mostly seems to be an american holiday in ways. Not until around the early 2000's did the Swedish people seem to have made the decision to make halloween much of a holiday and of course as of 2010 I have not seen much Halloween Trick Or Treating and festivals going on yet in the Nordic parts of europe ect/ When I was a kid we used to dress up and trick or treat every year for Halloween. Trick Or Treating is a traditional halloween event where kids would dress up in their best halloween costume and go door to door asking for candy. The kids would day Trick Or Treat and hold out candy bags, hats and plastic pumpkins to gather free candy from the neighbors and people near by their homes. After I was a preteen I noticed that the rumors of razor blades and poison in candy became an american myth or legend and wise tale which made some of the americans stop letting their children trick or treat. It is true that some houses would give out dangerous candy with glass and even put things in your bag that would scare you to death but, that is not so common as most would think.

   The dangers of Trick Or Treating in america is more a reality in southern parts of the united states where the people are allowed by law to carry guns and shoot anyone on their property after dark. Many children in america have been killed by people shootings. Some cases tell of children being shot while going into the neighbors yard to get their balls or toys that escaped them while playing outside. Sadly it it 100 percent legal in hick places like texas ect. The further south you go in the usa it seems the more scary it can get. I think when people are poorly educated and raised in certain ways it can effect how they end up in their adult life. Many cases of shootings, robbery and violence in america is real and of course now days there are so few people that even remember being able to trick or treat as children. After the late 1990's few children were trick or treating in america.

   I think Halloween & Trick Or Treating in Europe can be very safe and fun for kids. I also think that Halloween 2010 I will try to set up a huge halloween party and paint many faces as scary as possible grin. I will make up the best halloween costume ever in 2010 to share online so be sure to check out my Halloween Costume which maybe the first halloween I do not paint it while sitting live on webcam. Hum.
